No Milfoil at -12 degrees F?

110_110Two of the leading experts in the management of Eurasian Milfoil toured Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis, MN this past weekend in search of the invasive weed.  Terry McNabb and Kevin Kretsch pictured here labored both Friday and Saturday to locate even a sign of the plant that causes such a serious impact a bit later in the year.  One of our conclusions is if you can keep the weather at -12 degrees year round, you will never be bothered by this invasive species.

Seriously, I had the opportunity to participate in the 2009 US Pond Hockey Championships in Minneapolis at Kevin’s invitation this past weekend.  There were over 250 teams that particpated including the 20 that were in our over 50 division.  It was an exciting and very well put together operation.  If your interested, www.uspondhockey.com.  I think we’ll be back next year looking for more signs. 103_103
