Algae Plagues Northern California Reservoirs

Once again this year county and state officials are warning people to stay away from contact with algae in a number of reservoirs in the northern part of the state.  Reservoirs on the Iron Gate and Copco Lake system are currently experiencing blue green algae blooms.  These species produce toxins that are dangerous if ingested by animals.

There are new technologies to target these blooms.   Aquatechnex has started to work with Peroxide Solutions to deploy Pak 27, a new algaecide against blue green blooms.  This new technology has been registered in all states including California.  As a hydrogen peroxide based product, the active ingredients are oxygen and water.  Our precision application vessels have been equipped with an induction system to rapidly and cost effectively put this material into the water.
