The invasive filamentous algae Didymosphenia geminata has desimated a number of Rivers on the South Island of New Zealand, looks like it may be spreading to the United States. While there are reported sightings of this species throughout the west, none has developed to the point of critical mass yet. That may change in the near future. We should all be on the lookout for this invasive algae. Two articles are presented here for your information.
