The Problem
Hideaway Golf Club is one of the premier developments offered by Discovery Land Company. A recent Forbes Magazine article noted that such famous celeberties as Terry Bradshaw, Sylvester Stallone and Sugar Ray Leonard often purchase lots within these golf communities well before construction starts because of the value this company brings to it’s resort properties. Hideaway Golf Club has two 18 hole courses designed by the leading golf architects in the industry. There are over 50 acres of water and stream features on this property and they were posing problems to the Superintendent.

The Solution
Total Lake Management. Our biologists in Palm Desert developed a program that has met the needs of Hideaway and improved water quality in the lakes on the course. We inspect the many lakes on the property a number of times each week and monitor for problem conditions. Using a mix of aquatic herbicide treatments, mechanical removal, biological control and nutrient management, we have successfully maintained the conditions on this premier property at a level expected by their members.
